How to Locate a Good Employment Agency
When you are unemployed and looking for a job, you want to find the quickest route possible to getting a job. When it comes to applying with employment agencies, you really need to do your homework. I have gone through
dozens of employment agencies and there are several things that you want to avoid, and several things that you want to look for. First of all before you just go and walk in the office door, you will want to call several different agencies and make appointments. If you are not sure where to begin, just pick up the yellow pages and find the employment agencies, or staffing services. Pick at least five to six that are within a reasonable distance from your home. You do not want to pick one in a location that is too far away, since you may have to return there occasionally to fill out paperwork, or pick up your check.
Once you have compiled your list, you will want to check each company you have chosen with the Better Business Bureau. This will give you some type of idea about the company, and will help you in choosing an agency that will work best for you. Once you have done this and checked them out, then you can begin calling to set up your appointments. Try to only make one appointment a day. This way you can focus all of your attention on one agency at a time, to ensure you choose the best one. When you arrive for your interview and testing, take a look at how the office is set up. Does it look professional? How were you treated upon your arrival? Was there someone at the receptionist desk? You may feel that they are evaluating you, but you really need to be evaluating them. This agency is going to help you find your next employment. Most people who use employment agencies are looking for a permanent job, not one temp job after another. You need to make sure that they company you choose, is capable of doing the job.
