It can be said that the largest portion of job employment recruiters often state that they do not read cover letters and in essence cover letters are a ” waste of time”. Still you never know. Its a numbers games – look at Microsoft Windows 1/10 of a 1/ 10 of a percent translates into a lot of customers and a lot of cash income.

It can also be said “Son look in your own order book”. Many people got their jobs because of their cover letters.

Not having a cover letter can translate to the second group that either you are not thorough , sloppy , lazy or all of the above. Certainly not a good trait to advertise – just as bad as answering the question – what are the latest books that you have read – that you really enjoy the author John Grisham and that you read all of his books the last time that you were in prison.

You do not want to be tarred with a bad brush. No job offer for you – ever. Never make the assumption that the person who screens the resumes and sets up initial interviews does not read cover letters. Cover yourself and your job prospects with a well done cover letter.
